I'm having palpitations over the new 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee (above). I've had my current car, a Ford Edge for 20 months. The Ford Edge was attractive to me because of all the cool electronic features, its MPG and the fact that it would fit it my garage. My previous vehicle was a 08 Ford F150 crew cab 4x4. It was sweet. I loved how roomy and uncluttered the instrument panel was, but it was a major gas hog and wouldn't fit in the garage.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee looks very much like my dream car, the Range Rover (below), but I would never spend 60K+ for a vehicle. I could never afford it. I swore I would pay off my Ford Edge and be happy. Once paid off, I could do house projects. Seems like a sound plan, huh? I'm not feeling particularly strong though. The good news is, I take care of my vehicles and have been fortunate to keep my mileage down. My Edge has only 11K on it. It helps the trade-in value a great deal. (It seems I never keep cars longer than 3 years. I did have a Jeep Wrangler Sport for 11 years.)
I think the best thing to do is not think about this. I was looking at a Chevy Volt last week. Doing the right thing for the planet and my wallet is important though.
This story may be continued at a later time.
I've heard great things about the new Grand Cherokee! It won an award for best interior. It's a nice looking automobile. ;) peace
